Our Field Jacket is a sophisticated modern update of the classic military field jacket – it’s practical, durable and, with its ruggedly understated appearance, a perfect choice for adventurous travel far from the beaten track.

At first glance, it looks and feels like it’s made from a heavy-duty cotton canvas. But, take a closer look, and a slightly different picture emerges.

We’ve actually specified an advanced technical polyamide in a canvas weave. So, although it looks like cotton, its performance is in a completely different weave.

It’s much lighter than cotton. It’s also harder wearing, more windproof and more breathable. It’s also easy to wash – in the machine or in a stream – and will comfortably dry overnight, even in relatively humid conditions. It will never fade, rot, stretch, sag or lose its shape. And, best of all, it never needs ironing.

The jacket is half-lined in a top quality mesh for high breathability, reduced weight and minimum bulk.

The storage options of the Field Jacket could easily be described in one word: extensive. Which, if you’re the sort of chap who doesn’t go in for bum bags or ‘man bags’, is very good news indeed.

On the outside, there are two big chest pocket which are accessed with twin, vertical zips. The left hand pocket contains a small secondary pocket suitable for a mobile phone or an MP3 player.

The two base pockets are designed in a patch style with a large rollover flap. We’ve positioned the zip on the underside of the flap. This has two benefits – firstly, it makes the pocket extremely secure and, secondly, when the flap is extended it allows you to carry larger documents, up to A5 size. They’re perfect for maps, notebooks and travel documents. Both bottom pockets have a side-accessed hand pocket.

On the inside you’ll find a zipped vertical chest pocket, a zipped base pocket, and two touch-and-close fastened dump pockets – one large and one small.

Basically, if you can’t find a space for something in our Field Jacket, you probably don’t need it anyway.
