The Swiss Army Knife of outdoor clothing.
The Swiss Army Knife of outdoor clothing.
Made from a high-wicking, quick-drying polyester, this deceptively simple tube of fabric is the ‘Swiss Army Knife’ of outdoor clothing.
Wherever you’re heading at whatever time of year, it’s always worth taking a Buff. There’s probably no other item of clothing - of this weight and packed size – that’s more useful.
Here’s just a few ideas of how it can be used.
Neck Gaiter
In summer, it’ll keep the sun off the back of your neck. In winter, it’ll keep your neck warm.
Face Mask
Skiing on a snowy day? It’ll stop your nose and mouth freezing. Caught in a sandstorm in the desert? It’ll stop your nose and mouth clogging with dust.
Hood
Pull it over your head for full protection from the sun or extra insulation in the cold.
Headband
Keep your hair out of the way and stop sweat running into your eyes. Or, in the cold, keep the chill off your ears.
Alice Band
One for the ladies (or gentlemen Hawkwind fans). It’ll stop your hair from blowing around in your face.
Bandana
Get the pirate look and keep the sun off your bald patch.
Skull Cap
Probably the most conventional - but the Buff makes a great hat. In summer, it’s all you need. In winter, it can work like a ‘base layer’ hat under a thicker hat or helmet.
Towel
It’s just the job for mopping up spills around the camp stove.
Wrist band
Fancy an impromptu game of tennis on your travels? No need to worry about letting your racket slip, if you’re wearing the Rohan Buff.
Hilarious comedy impressions
Pull it over your face and wear your glasses over the top. And then wobble the arms from behind your ear in the style of Eric Morecombe. It never fails.
