Offering protection, comfort and a certain amount of sartorial distinction, our Pilkington hat is the perfect choice for the adventurous traveller.

Originally designed for serial explorer and long-time friend of Rohan, John Pilkington, the hat is built to take the knocks of a lifetime of abuse.

It’s made from a durable blend of polyamide and elastane with our Dynamic Moisture Control™ finish.

It offers Total* protection from the harmful effects of UV radiation, a useful level of wind protection and cool comfort in hot or humid conditions.

It’s easy to wash – in a machine, a bucket or a stream – and will dry in just a few hours.

Features include a removable, elasticated chin-strap, a secret pocket hidden in the crown and venting holes in the side.

The Pilkington is available in three sizes:
Small/Medium 57cm
Medium/Large 59cm
Extra Large 61cm

To check your hat size, use a tape measure to measure your head circumference approximately 2cm above your ears in a place where the hat would sit comfortably – you might need an explorer’s assistant to help with this bit.

*A Note on Sun Protection

Our sun protective clothing is tested in accordance with EN 13858-2 standards. Garments awarded our Total (UPF 40+) rating block 98% of harmful UVA + UVB radiation to covered areas. The protection offered may be reduced with extended wear or if the garment is stretched or wet.
