This season, we're turning up the vibrancy with bold, bright colours to help you stand out when embarking on adventure.
With the days getting longer, there’s still opportunity for extensive treks along the mountainsides to carry on into the early evening, where it’s important to take extra precautions. While wearing darker clothing might be your preferred choice, there's a colourful case for standing out on your adventures.
Imagine you wanted to stretch your walk to experience the sunset. You’d have beautiful views, but the trek back would be more difficult as the night approaches - Visibility for both you and others become even more important. While earth toned clothing might seem 'natural', they can actually make you blend in too well - great for wildlife watching, not so much for group hikes or busy trails. Highly visible colours will help stand out against a natural backdrop, making it easier to be seen by others.
In cloudy or miserable weather, visibility can be almost zero and walking in the dark can lead to getting lost, slips and falls. Why not include a Buglit Flashlight to your inventory, ensuring you’re always ready for those tricky terrains, no matter the time of day. Prepare for adventures in any level of light to remain safe and maintain enjoyment in the outdoors.
Here are our tips to safer travels in low light:
- Bring the right gear for the environment - Make sure to bring extra, just in case
- Make sure to have bright colours on you, making you easily visible to others – This could be a jacket, trousers, a backpack or even hiking poles.
- Pack a headtorch, or a handheld torch, or both!
- Stay on a trail by becoming familiar with the route or following trail markers
- Be alert and aware of your surroundings
- Stay with a partner (or a few) – not only is it safer, but it could also be more fun
- Share your plans with someone else – The more details the better
