The Full Story
The Men’s Brecon Jacket is a classic all-season shell that provides complete protection from the elements. Perfect for layering over a base layer and/or fleece for extra warmth when you're exploring the hills or further afield.
The hem and cuffs provide you with the flexibility to fine-tune the fit to your preference so that you can continue your activities as comfortable as possible. Large functional pockets are designed to be worn with a rucksack this makes reaching for your OS map trouble-free. With three-point adjustment to the front and rear of the fixed hood, you can be assured that on the windiest day the hood will remain in place keeping your face protected.
Whether you're taking on the mountains or slower-paced walks, the weather plays a big part in our outdoor adventures. This is why the Brecon Jacket comes with our renowned Barricade Standard, which combines our latest fabric technology for being waterproof, windproof and breathable. Our innovative 2-Layer Barricade standard uses technology to bond the outer fabric with the internal breathable membrane, then lined with taffeta and mesh for your added comfort.
For our garments to be classed as reaching the Barricade Standard the fabric must achieve a minimum Hydrostatic Head of 20,000mm. The jacket is treated with a DWR (Durable Water Repellancy) finish which boosts the fabric's water repellency. In addition, it forces water droplets to 'bead up' and run off the outside of the fabric, maintaining its effectiveness.

Bought coast red because it’s more dark orange than the website pics show - and much better for that in my opinion. Generous fit (XL is equivalent to XXL in some other brands) and lots of zipped pockets. Waterproofing is second to none.1 person found this review helpful. Was this review helpful?3 months agoMen's Brecon Waterproof Jacket Alpine GreenUsual high standard of technical quality. Welcome the fact the main zipper can be undone at top and bottom. Good fitting. Would probably have preferred a mustard colour if it had been offered. Was this review helpful?5 months agoMen's Brecon Waterproof Jacket Island BlueI am a fan of Rohan products and this is a great jacket. The problem is, it’s not what I really wanted. I find it difficult to differentiate your offering. I wanted a shel jacket, as this is described, and for me that is the lightest possible jacket with no lining. I had one but unfortunately I left it in the pub. It did not come home. I like this new jacket but I already have one in red.2 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful?8 months agoMen's Brecon Waterproof Jacket Dark Olive BrownI'm very pleased with my jacket. Only negative is the fact that the hood can't roll up into the collar. My last Rohan had this facility. I indeed was informed about your product that has a roll-up hood, but it has no flap over the main zip so I gave that a miss. Otherwise, I have proved Rohan in the past, to perform well, so I'll stay with the brand.2 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful?9 months agoMen's Brecon Waterproof Jacket Dark Olive BrownA practical and well made jacket ( characteristic of all previous products I have purchased over the years). I particularly like the colour of this jacket. That is not something I could say about many of the colours Rohan offer, some of which are positively lurid. But they get cose enough to the right spot colourwise with a majority of their products. An observation I would make is that that an internal "drop pocket" would be a very useful addition to the overall practicality of the jacket. But that's just me being a fusspot. In summary, I think this is a really good jacket. It has performed well so far and if it is anything like other Rohan clothing I have previously bought it should last a very long time ( and be put to good use).5 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful?11 months agoMen's Brecon Waterproof Jacket Island BlueSeems excellent at first look. I've only worn it twice but it's a good fit, and feels robust, comfortable and suited for winter walks.2 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful?11 months agoMen's Brecon Waterproof Jacket BlackI haven't had the chance to wear the jacket yet since it's already hot in Italy and I only recently made the purchase. I'll tell you something about it around October, but my Rohan choices have never disappointed me and I still wear items purchased over 15 years ago.2 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful?1 year agoMen's Brecon Waterproof Jacket Dark Olive BrownSizing is out, every jacket including outdoor jackets I have are medium. My Brecon one is a small. First two outings in heavy rain the jacket has left me getting wet inside mainly from the chest pocket. This is not a cheap jacket. Disappointed, I have been a customer for a long time.Reply:Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on our Men's Brecon Waterproof Jacket in Dark Olive Brown. We truly appreciate your honesty and willingness to share your experience with us. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused by the sizing issue, It is indeed disappointing to hear that the jacket did not meet your expectations. But, it would be best to review an item like this after, perhaps, a year. Was this review helpful?1 year agoMen's Brecon Waterproof Jacket BlackBought the Brecon jacket last year. It’s a great fit and comfortable, and the hood is great. However in my opinion there are 2 things that let it down: The press- studs are too small and are difficult to fasten especially with cold, wet hands, and the side hand pocket flaps point forwards instead of backwards which allows rain to run down into the pockets and the flaps also get blown outwards in the wind exposing wind and rain to the pockets (and their contents). Other than that it’s a great jacket!5 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful?1 year ago12

Men's Brecon Waterproof Walking Jacket
When you’re exploring the hills or further afield, the Brecon Jacket is a great addition on cold, wet days, providing complete protection with 2-Layer Barricade Standard and Durable Water Repellency finish.
-
Our DWR finish is an advanced treatment which dramatically increases the water repellency of our fabrics. On its own, it offers a useful level of shower resistance; used in conjunction with our Barricade technology, it reduces the tendency of the face fabric to wet out and maximizes breathability.
-
The Barricade standard gives you reassurance of a high level of waterproof protection. All of our waterproofs must meet our Barricade Standard to be ten times the British standard for waterproofing.
The waterproof fabric of the garment has two layers. The water-repellent outer fabric and the PU hydrophilic membrane are bonded together. In addition, a loose lining protects the membrane from the inside.

Losing possessions when you’re close to home is frustrating, but losing your car keys, passport, phone or wallet while you’re travelling can really spoil your adventure. That’s why we put lots of thought into developing safer pockets – deeper, zipped and hidden.
