Local Knowledge
Inverness is the central location point when travelling around the Scottish Highlands. Whether you are doing the world-famous North Coast 500 or Island hopping around the Western Isles and West Coast, you will most likely be stopping by Inverness to stock up and admire what this wonderful city has to offer!
A few of our store teams’ favourites sites to visit are; Loch Ness, Culloden Battlefield, Inverness Castle, The Islands down by River Ness and slightly further out and the stunning Fairy Pools at Rosemarkie Beach.
Also, there’s the beautiful and towering Ben Wyvis to the north of the city. Inverness also has plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants. Staff favourites include The Milk Bar in the Victorian Market for coffee, cakes and ice-cream, The Black Isle Bar for stone baked pizza and their own produced beer, as well as Hootenanny's ('Hoots' to the locals) for a great laugh with live traditional Scottish music playing most nights and an upstairs bar for alternative live music.
Finally, if you are looking for something a bit different, Leakey’s bookshop on Church Street has to be one of the best traditional bookshops - you could get lost in there for hours!
