Local Knowledge
This leafy riverside town is both pleasantly urbanised and of historical significance, with roots that can be traced back to Tudor and Saxon times. In the town centre, bustling modern commerce co-exists with sites of historical importance; from ancient churches and stunning Tudor architecture, to medieval monuments such as the Coronation Stone on which Britain’s first Saxon kings were crowned.
The crown jewel, however, is the ancient market place: the bright and busy heart of the thriving town centre. You’ll find Rohan Kingston is just a minute’s walk from the market on the pleasantly shady Thames Street.
Once you’ve visited our store, why not enjoy a riverside stroll, observing the many swans and painted canal boats which edge the promenade. From here, take a visit to any one of Kingston’s many heritage sites, from the Clattern Bridge – which dates back to 1175 and arches over the rushing Hogsmill River – to Ham House (a National Trust site), or the sun-dappled Bushy Park, just a short walk from the Rohan store.
Come along and meet the team and they will share some of their local secrets with you. There’s also much to be said about what lies beneath our feet and the floorboards in store…
