Local Knowledge
Perth historically has always had a wealth of independent retailers and it is well worth wandering down some of the less well trodden streets to find yourself a bargain or pick up some locally produced goods. Most are within a 10-minute walk from the city centre.
Perth Concert Hall plays host to some of the biggest names and entertainment from the UK and beyond and is always abuzz with excitement all year round. The venue plays host to everything from pop concerts to famous events such as the Perth Festival of the Arts – and it looks pretty spectacular too!
Perth, and the surrounding area, is a fantastic place to get out and about. If it’s just a short leisurely stroll you prefer then head for the riverside walks along the banks of the Tay. For the slightly more energetic there are the hills of Moncrieff and Kinnoull which offer splendid views of the city and the Tay and Earn river valleys beyond. And if you are looking for some serious hill climbing then there are numerous Munros to be bagged only a short drive away, staff picks being the famous Schiehallion and Ben Vorlich on beautiful Loch Earn.
And after all that exercise you will be needing to stop and refuel. Perth has an abundance of eateries and watering holes for you to recover. Our favourites include French restaurant Breazh, Café Tabou, and The Venue where local bands including ‘The Mad Ferret Band’ will have you dancing into the small hours.
