Local Knowledge
There is a friendly PieMinister opposite Rohan Trentham (our manager Ian’s favourite haunt!) with a great range of pies and meals to eat in or take away. The spicy sausage rolls are definitely worth a try. Among many other eateries on site are Capabilitea – a quirky Tea Room offering freshly made sandwiches and cakes, Cadwaladers Café which also sells their amazing Welsh ice cream; and a large restaurant in the main Trentham Garden Centre. Frankie & Benny’s and a Harvester Pub are close by too.
The amazing range of Trentham Village shops are worth a visit to browse and buy, everything from pet accessories, hats, china and kitchenware, to luggage, designer clothing and local food and drink specialities.
Trentham Lake offers boat trips and hot air balloon rides. The Monkey Forest, where Barbary Macaques roam free, is definitely worth a look. No visit to the Staffordshire Potteries would be complete without a ceramics experience. See the World of Wedgwood (factory tour, ‘have-a-go’ area, museum, dining and shopping, only 15 minutes by car) or the Emma Bridgewater Pottery and Visitor Centre which is half an hour from Trentham. The glorious Staffordshire countryside bordering on the Peak District and Derbyshire is an absolute dream for walkers all year round.
Trentham also hosts regular music and entertainment events – just ask our staff for information, or visit trentham.co.uk for more.
