At Rohan, the spirit of adventure is integrated in everything we do, from the energy that drives us in the office to the gear we create for the great outdoors.

Our Staff Stories series is all about celebrating this adventurous spirit, showcasing the real-life journeys of our team members. This week, we’re thrilled to feature Charlotte from our Head Office, who recently embarked on a two-week adventure through the breathtaking landscapes of the Canadian Rockies.

Charlotte’s Rocky Mountain Adventure

Charlotte’s journey began in the heart of Alberta, where she and her husband, Tom, kicked off their trip in Banff National Park. Their adventure started with a snowy sunrise hike to the Little Beehive from Lake Louise.

As they ventured further into the Rockies, they found themselves surrounded by the beauty of Jasper National Park. A ride on the SkyTram offered them a bird’s-eye view of the awe-inspiring mountain scenery, a sight that Charlotte described as “breathtaking” in every sense of the word.

The journey continued westward into British Columbia, where Yoho National Park awaited. Here, Charlotte and Tom enjoyed a serene canoe trip across the iconic Emerald Lake.

Encounters with Canadian Wildlife

No trip to the Canadian Rockies would be complete without experiencing its incredible wildlife, and Charlotte’s adventure was no exception. Throughout their travels, they were fortunate enough to encounter Black and Brown Bears, Bald Eagles, Moose, and even Wolves. The wildlife encounters culminated in Vancouver with an unforgettable boat tour, where they were lucky enough to see a pod of Orca Whales.

Essential Gear for an Unforgettable Journey

Facing the chilly mountain weather, Charlotte found herself extremely grateful for her Helios Jacket, a Rohan staple that proved invaluable throughout her trip. “It was pretty chilly, so I was extremely grateful for my Helios Jacket, which kept me warm at the bottom and at the top of the mountains. The ability to pack this down super small into my backpack when I wasn’t using it was ideal, and meant I still had room for my bear spray and packed lunch!”

The Helios Jacket’s combination of warmth, lightweight design, and packability made it the perfect companion for Charlotte’s adventure, ensuring she was prepared for whatever the elements had in store
