Josh's North Wales Climbing Trip

Josh, a vital part of our head office marketing team, recently embarked on a four-day climbing adventure in North Wales. Josh regularly spends his weekends climbing in the Peak District, so he was excited to explore a new area and sample some of the Welsh rock. 

 

His journey took him through:

 

 - Llanberis Valley
 - Ogwen Valley
 - Parisella’s Cave


While his group engaged in some roped climbing, their primary focus was bouldering—a climbing discipline that involves scaling rocks between 3-6 meters high. Using specially designed portable foam pads for safety, bouldering emphasizes the technicality and difficulty of the climb rather than its height.

"This was my first time visiting North Wales, and I was blown away by the stunning scenery and the sheer amount of high-quality climbing areas," Josh shared. "Summiting a climb surrounded by snowcapped mountains was an incredible reward for the effort."

Throughout his trip, Josh was outfitted in Rohan gear, crucial for facing the unpredictable Welsh weather. He particularly liked wearing his Microgrid Jacket and Eos Jacket:

 

Microgrid Jacket: "The perfect lightweight fleece, keeping me warm while allowing free movement on the rocks."


Eos Jacket: "Provided essential warmth in the freezing temperatures, offering impressive insulation while out in the hills."


Josh is already planning a return trip to North Wales this winter, eager to explore more climbing spots and tackle some of the region’s renowned trails and hikes.
